Africa Trail

Africa Trail is an educational game from MECC, in the tradition of The Oregon Trail. Players plan and undertake a long bicycle journey across Africa, making decisions about supplies, routes and challenges.

Gameplay

The game follows the Trail formula:

• Preparation: Choose supplies and plan your journey.
• Travel: Cross the continent by bicycle.
• Decisions: Deal with challenges along the way.
• Learning: Discover African geography and cultures.

It combines adventure and education well.

Verdict

Africa Trail is a solid entry in MECC’s Trail series. It’s dated now, but its mix of planning and learning still works.
